Calls (live meetings with AI minutes)

TL;DR

Ripple Calls are for the moments when live time truly matters. Every session is recorded, transcribed, summarized, and linked to tasks automatically so nothing is lost and every outcome becomes actionable.

Overview

Calls turn traditional meetings into structured, searchable events. Instead of disappearing into calendars, each call becomes a permanent knowledge object with AI minutes, speaker attribution, and follow-up tasks. Because Calls integrate tightly with Jams and Channels, live discussions always build on async context.

Note

Version 25.docxRipple Onboarding Guide — New Zealand Edition 2025 section 4.1.1.2 is the canonical reference for the New Call workflow (name, Public/Private, participants, Instant vs Scheduled, Smart Schedule). Sections 4.1.5 and 4.3 show where Calls surface inside the Jams table and the right-hand context rail.

In depth

Starting a call

Launch a call from three entry points:

  1. Inside a Jam – continue a discussion live when sentiment says “Let’s Meet.”
  2. Within a Channel – host ad-hoc or recurring team calls with full context.
  3. Direct Messages – spin up 1:1 or small group meetings instantly.

Core features

  • HD video and screen share with low-latency audio.
  • Automatic recording and transcription using Ripple’s AI pipeline.
  • AI Minutes summarizing key decisions, tasks, and sentiment.
  • Topic tags that link outcomes back to projects or Jams.

After the call

  • Full transcript and summary appear under Call Summary in the originating Jam or Channel.
  • AI highlights tasks, decisions, and follow-ups, then pushes them to Tasks & Projects.
  • Call artifacts stay searchable so future collaborators can replay context.

Where to review calls in the UI

  • Jams list (Version 25 §4.1.5): Every Jam row exposes the Call history via the Actions menu; follow the instructions in the NZ guide to rename, delete, or move a Jam before/after a call.
  • Middle panel (Version 25 §4.2.1): Recent Calls appear alongside Recent Jams and Summaries so you can relaunch them in a click.
  • Right-hand panel (Version 25 §4.3): Participant list, Invite (+), Details (tags, due dates), Files, and Activity Feed always reflect the live call context. Use this area to adjust ownership or share artifacts without leaving the page.

Best practices

  • Record every call—even short huddles—so Ripple AI can capture insight you might forget.
  • Launch calls from existing Jams so everyone arrives pre-aligned.
  • Review generated tasks immediately afterward and reassign owners if needed.
  • Share summaries to Slack/Teams via integrations to keep stakeholders looped in.
