Jams

Your Collaborative Workspace

Jams are topic-focused collaboration spaces.

Think of a Jam as a meeting room that is open 24/7, where you don’t all have to be there at the same time. You define a topic, share your thoughts (video or text), and let the team contribute when they have time.

Each Jam serves as a dedicated workspace for a single project, a specific issue, or a recurring team update.

How it works:

  • Structure: Set a clear objective and use Topics to break the discussion down into manageable agenda points..

  • Input: Participants can upload files, record quick videos (under 3 minutes), or post text comments to give updates and ask questions, via the Discussion.

  • Alignment: Participants set the sentiment to signal how they feel.

  • Resolution: Ripple AI generates a Summary page within each Jam to provide an overview of the activity, metrics, and outcomes.

Inside a Jam:

FeaturePurpose
VideoPlay uploaded videos, view the transcription, and read Ripple’s automatically generated summary.
Uploaded FilesView, open, and download files attached to the Jam Topic.
DiscussionAdd comments, questions, or updates; view all participant messages in a live thread.

Topic SentimentJam participants can indicate their sentiment towards the topic from a range of four options.
TasksDisplays all tasks created under this Topic; each one links directly back to its source.

Creating a Jam:

Ready to flip a meeting? Here is how to set up your async workspace.

  1. New Jam: Click New Jam from your dashboard or inside a specific Channel.

  2. Set the Goal: Add a title and an Objective - this tells the team exactly what you need to align on.

  3. Define Topics: Add your discussion points as Topics. These structure the conversation so it doesn’t get messy.

  4. Add Context: Record a short video (keep it under 3 mins!) or upload files/links to give the team the full picture.

  5. Launch: Invite your participants and set a deadline so everyone knows when to chime in.

  6. Choose Visibility: public to organisation or private to invited participants

Recurring Jams

Toggle ‘Recurring’ to roll topics and incomplete tasks into the next cycle. Ideal for:

  • Weekly team check-ins
  • Sales reviews
  • Project updates
  • 1:1 performance conversations

Jam Summaries

The ‘Summary’ page at the end of each Jam provides instant insights into the progress across that Jam. This section can be found automatically generates the following sections:

  • Recap: an AI-generated summary of everything that was covered within the Jam, including the number of Tasks

  • Async Completion Score: how many topics within a Jam were able to be resolved asynchronously, without requiring a Call

  • Time Distribution: the average amount of time it took to complete each Topic within the Jam

  • Engagement Levels: based on participation by participants + sentiment scores

  • Topic Sentiment: based on sentiment scores set by individual participants

  • Proposed Agenda: if there are unresolved Topics within the Jam, Ripple’s AI automatically generates a Proposed Agenda for a call to cover & resolve these.

  • Schedule a Call: You can click Schedule Call directly from this section to launch a live session that is pre-loaded with these unresolved items.

[!TIP] Tool Tip: 💡 Break your Jam into clear Topics rather than one long discussion to keep the focus tight. This helps your team resolve specific agenda points asynchronously, often saving you from needing a live meeting at all.
