Notes

Capturing Ideas

Notes are your team’s shared documentation. Think of them as lightweight, flexible docs - similar to Notion or Google Docs - but they live right inside your Ripple workflow.

They are perfect for meeting agendas, strategy documents, messy brainstorming, or building a team handbook.

Inside Notes:

FeaturePurpose
EditorA clean, markdown-enabled writing space that handles text, images, and checklists with ease.
Co-AuthoringReal-time collaboration allows multiple users to edit the document simultaneously.
Privacy ToggleSwitch between Private (just for you) and Public (visible to the team) instantly.
PermissionsAssign roles like Viewer (read-only), Editor (can change content), or Owner (full control) to manage governance.

Controlling Access: Public vs. Private

Not every thought needs to be broadcast to the company. Ripple gives you simple control over who sees what:

  • Private Notes: By default, new notes created in your personal space are Private. These are for your eyes only - perfect for drafting ideas, personal to-do lists, or sensitive meeting prep.

  • Public Notes: Toggle a note to Public to make it accessible to your team. If you create a note inside a Channel, it defaults to public for that specific team.

Using Notes:

Just like Calls and Tasks, you can start a Note from wherever you happen to be working.

Creating A Note

The Personal Way (Sidebar)

  Best for: Drafting personal thoughts.

  1. Click the Notes icon in the left sidebar.

  2. This opens your personal library. Click + New Note to start writing.

The Quick Way (Global Launch)

Best for: capturing an idea while working on something else.

  1. Hover over the Ripple logo at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Select New Note from the menu.

The Project Way (Channel)

Best for: Meeting agendas, project specs, or team wikis.

  1. Navigate to a specific Channel (e.g., ‘Marketing’).

  2. Click the Notes tab at the top.

  3. Click + New Note.

Benefit: Notes created here are automatically linked to the project and visible to the channel members.

Inside The Note

  • Write & Format: Use standard typing. You can use Markdown shortcuts (like # for headings or * for bullets) to format as you go.

  • Collaborate: Click the Share button in the top right to invite teammates. You’ll see their cursors appear in real-time as they contribute.

[!TIP] Tool Tip: 💡Save the filing time. Create a Note directly inside a Channel to automatically link it to the project and share it with the team.

Quick Start:

Don’t let brilliance fade. Tick these off to start building your knowledge base:

  • Launch a new note from your sidebar (for private thoughts) or inside a Channel (for team docs).

  • Use Markdown (like # for headers) to format your text on the fly.

  • Toggle between Private for drafts and Public when you’re ready to share.

  • Hit Share to invite the team and edit together in real-time.
